Sourdough Workshops in Adelaide: Everything You Need to Know

If you've ever thought "I wish someone could just show me how to make proper sourdough" — this one's for you. Whether you're all about that classic crusty loaf or you're living that gluten-free life, we've got something for you at The Sourdough Way.

Kayla runs both traditional and gluten-free sourdough workshops every month in Adelaide. It’s flour-dusted, hands-on learning that’ll leave you confident, inspired, and ready to bake beautiful bread from your own kitchen.

Do you offer workshops or classes?

Yes! Kayla’s got you covered. These aren’t your average demo sessions — they’re immersive, practical, and fun. You'll get your hands in the dough, learn the why and the how, and walk away with everything you need to start baking at home.

You can choose a workshop that suits your style — or do both. Traditional or gluten-free, each class is packed with value, real results, and a few laughs along the way.

When will I receive details about my workshop?

You’ll receive a confirmation email a few days before your scheduled session. It'll include the location, what to bring, and all the juicy sourdough details. Keep an eye on your inbox (and maybe give that sneaky spam folder a peek too).

What do I need to bring?

Don’t worry — we’ll remind you by email, but here’s your checklist:

  • 1x large bowl or container (with lid, big enough to hold 1kg of dough)

  • 1x smaller container (for cracker dough – approx. 500g)

  • 1x small jar (500ml–1L) to take home your starter

Forgot something? No stress. There are always options to purchase gear on the day if needed.

Who runs the workshops?

All classes are taught by Kayla — mum of three, part flour nerd, part bread whisperer, and 100% obsessed with helping you feel confident in the kitchen. With her down-to-earth teaching style and love for real food, she makes sourdough feel simple, empowering and honestly... kind of addictive.

From building your starter to scoring your loaf, she walks you through the full process — step-by-step — and makes sure you actually understand why things work (or don’t).

Can I change my workshop date?

Absolutely — life happens. If you need to move your spot, just get in touch at least 48 hours before your scheduled session. We’ll do our best to find you a new date.

Please note: If a class is cancelled within 48 hours, we're unable to offer a refund or reschedule, since preparations will already be underway. Thanks so much for understanding.

Do you collaborate with community groups or schools?

Yes! We love working with schools, councils, and community groups. If you're interested in hosting a private class or sourdough talk, we’d love to hear from you.

Ready to join us?

Check out our Workshop Calendar to book your spot, or explore our Online Course if you’d rather learn at your own pace from the comfort of your kitchen.

Either way — let’s turn flour, water, and time into something truly magical.
